Johannesburg – The Rea Vaya bus service will not resume on Monday, its spokesperson Benny Makgoga said on Saturday.
“Passengers will receive further updates and feedback on Monday,” he said in a statement.
Around 160 drivers abandoned their buses on Monday without explanation.
Operating company Piotrans at the time said the drivers had not communicated their grievances to management.
Makgoga said the city of Johannesburg and the transport department had received a report on Friday from Piotrans on the work stoppage. Based on the report, a decision was taken not to resume operations on Monday.
Details of the report was not disclosed.
