Taxi drivers and members of the Nelson Mandela Bay Transport Forum disrupted a meeting called by the Port Elizabeth Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PERCCI) this afternoon (May 18).

The meeting, held to inform Percci members about the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, 2010 transport arrangements and to answer the many questions raised by local business on the topic was called off when about 50 disgruntled men entered the City Hall auditorium at about 2pm.

The taxi officials and driver said they were angry because they did not receive a formal invitation to the meeting because they were also part of the BRT system.
