Raubex, the listed road construction company, has been awarded three major contracts worth a total of almost R1.2 billion by the SA National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral).

A contract valued at R719 million was awarded to Raubex Construction, the group’s road and civil infrastructure construction division, to upgrade the R21 between the Olifantsfontein and Hans Strydom interchanges.

Roadmac, the road maintenance and rehabilitation division, was awarded a R230 million contract for the rehabilitation of the N11 between Ngogo Station and Kwaggasnek in Mpumalanga, and another contract valued at R198 million for the rehabilitation of the N1 from the Koelenhof interchange to the Huguenot toll plaza in the Western Cape.

Work on all three contracts is expected to start next month. –
