DEPUTY President Kgalema Motlanthe has called on other cities to embrace the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system to relieve residents of “the stress and pain” of spending a lot of time in traffic congestion. “This is something to be emulated by other cities. It’s a convenient, affordable and reliable public transport system. I never thought public transport could work so efficiently as the BRT,” he said.

Motlanthe was speaking during his inspection tour of the World Cup legacy projects in Joburg on Saturday.  “The buses are safe, quick and reliable, and other cities must take a leaf from Joburg’s book,” said Motlanthe.
